Neuro-ExoHeal: utilizing neuroplasticity to retrain the brain and rehabilitate patients with hand stroke/paralysis

Zain Samdani, Faria Zubair, Saudi Arabia 16-18

Our project aims to help patients suffering from hand stroke/paralysis recover faster by introducing an exoskeletal hand rehabilitation device: Neuro-ExoHeal. It utilizes neuroplasticity to provide faster rehabilitation by retraining the patient’s motor-cortex and recovering motor functions. The current rehabilitation devices are bulky, slow, and nonportable, so patients are forced to lead tough lives, and some can’t afford the expense. Neuro-ExoHeal solves these problems by being a portable and affordable device that works with a doctor's assistance via an app to bring it within reach of the highest number of individuals in need.
