No-sacrifice smart driving to conserve energy and preserve our planet

Pranjal Agrawal, California, USA 13-15

This project examined the effects of a fixed set of smart driving practices on an ordinary vehicle's gas mileage and carbon dioxide emission on the city streets of the San Francisco Bay Area. These practices make efficient use of a car’s kinetic energy to move the car an extra distance instead of wasting it as heat in applying the brakes. The goal was to see if these practices improve a car's gas mileage and reduce CO2 emission, so that drivers of 1.2 billion vehicles on Earth can contribute to conserving energy and preserving our planet without making any sacrifice.
