Deceased organ donation rate is poor in most parts of the world, but it is abysmally low in India, leading to the death of more than 500,000 patients per year while awaiting organ transplantation. Educating adolescents about organ donation may have the potential to improve organ donor registrations. We strived to investigate whether a single classroom-based education session by peer students can improve knowledge and the intent to donate organs in high school students and their families, and will lead to family discussion, which can be the catalyst to improve organ donation in society.
