The Foramen Magnum, Bipedalism, Habitat, and Human Ancestry: A computer study of 3D digital skulls.

Nerine Thompson, Florida, USA 13-15

I took a fresh look at the use of the foramen magnum's placement and orientation as an indicator of bipedalism in primates, humans, Homo erectus, and fossil specimens using computer tools and analysis of 3D digital skull models. Controversial skull measurements used by anthropologists since the 1920s were tested and compared to alternative standards.
