Bioremediation of Cr(VI) contaminated soil and water using Anabaena cylindrica immobilized in a polymer matrix

I have developed bioremediation of hexavalent chromium using an optimized cyanobacterial strain of Anabaena cylindrica immobilized in poly(acrylic acid) grafted over guar gum. It is a green, environment-friendly, low-cost technology. It is helpful for remediation of Cr(VI) contaminated soil and water. It is applicable for reclamation of overburdened sites and treatment of mine effluent. It would be a boon to farmers as it can be applied in rice fields. This small step of bioremediation would be a big leap towards sustainable development.
