An economical approach for detecting water contamination at home, preventing a public drinking water crisis

Contamination in water poses a serious and mostly undetected threat, so it is necessary for people to have an economical option to test the water they drink in their own homes. I have researched and developed an economical device that detects contaminants such as lead and fluoride that exceed EPA guidelines. An iPhone app is paired with the device to receive the data the device collects, calculate the toxin concentrations, and display the results in the user interface. The testing time is approximately ten minutes.
