Non-invasive Search for Optimal Cancer Treatment

In current clinical environments, a sample of the tumor must be surgically removed from the body and then put through various molecular processes in order to predict treatment response. Moreover, many cancer patients are forced to undergo unnecessary surgical operations and therapies that are incredibly taxing on the patient and waste hospital resources. Patients with triple negative breast cancer especially experience hardships due to the unusual aggressiveness of the cancer. In our project, we strive to create a model that can accurately predict triple negative breast cancer’s treatment response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy using a special type of MRI scans.
